AdSense Freebie Put to Good Use

Just received a $100 AdSense gift card from Google. I have in the past, like so many, but have never used them.

Since I haven’t really played with AdSense in a while, this year I’ve decided to put it to good use and kill two birds with one stone thrown:

  1. I’ll use it to promote two causes I enjoy: WordPress/WordCamp Montreal (once the new site Brendan is working on is up) and “Skateistan, the Movie”
  2. I’ll be able to monitor the campaigns and see if they have any impact at all

After all, there’s no sense in letting this freebie go to waste. :)

Satarii Star Motion Activated Tripod

The Satarii Star promises to be a pretty sweet iPhone accessory. The pitch is simple: “a product that makes your mobile camera follow your every move. You can video yourself doing anything without the awkwardness of asking friends or complicated setups”. Add the twist that the device is entirely crowd funded through IndieGoGo, and you’ve got yourself all the bits for a potential success story.

In the same vein, the Glif is also pretty neat, and funded in the same fashion.

New Site: I ♥ iPhone Photos

Started a new quick site over lunch today: http://iloveiphonephotos.com/

I keep finding stunning photos taken with iPhones and always thought I should keep track of them.
So be it. You can also suggest your own findings.

The other incentive behind it, for me, is to showcase how easy it is to start a curation or tumble blog on WordPress.com.

It took me 15 minutes to get the whole thing setup, including:

Add another 15 to find and post, even schedule, a few picts using Press This to get the ball going and voilà.

Hoping you’ll like the picts as much as I do.
