Heh. :) But in practice, my best guess is that it subtract some at that phase, since the sprouts feed off the potato’s flesh (which felt quasi liquified, but not rot or the sprout would have died). We, after all, feed off what was normally destined for them to get sustenance from.
I wonder if that adds extra nutrients ;)
