I think it’s a gun. Boys will be boys. :)
Then again, it does look more like a banana. I’ll ask. :)
The boy is very perceptive – the banana shaped thing would have to be on the right side of the paper in the view from the front and the left side of the paper when the viewer sees it from the back… that gives me an idea for a blog post!
